I am always a bit nervouse when I stant by the luggage beltway looking for my back pack, especially when I have done several planes and airports from my "home" airport to my destination. To Singapore I left, as always, from Stavanger. First stopover for 50 minuttes was Oslo, then Istanbul for 1H 40 minuttes, and both of this stops was just enough so I made the plane waiting on the other side of the airports, and that makes me wonder if my backpack will do the same on the beltways between the planes. It did, I got it at arrival in Singapore. An other thing on this flight was that I didn't got my bording pass from Istanbul to Singapore when I left Stavanger, and since I had never been to Istanbul airport before I was a tiny bit worry about how I should get that in Istanbul. So it is needless to say that I was happy when I saw a counter saying "bordingpasses for those you are in transit without bordingpass", and there I got my missing bordingpass as well. :-) The flight itself was pretty good, eating, reading, listening to music and also doing some sleeping on row 40, the second last seatrow on an Airbus from Turkish airlines.
As last year am I strugling with the jetlag, falling asleep at normal time at night, but wake up again after 2-3 hours and stay awake for some hours. This morning, Monday, was I sleeping till 12 am, got 13 hours in the bed, but just my normal 7-8 hours of sleep during that time. Was about the same the first night, just not sleeping that long into the day. Will get better after some time, hopefully before I leave Singapore. A little bit better, but guess I just have to use the alarm clock and force myself up, slept or not slept.
I have not been doing anything special, looking around, done some shopping for some new summer clotes, eating pretty good, and found out, or gotten reminded of that Singapore is very expencive. The cost of a pint of beer is the same as back home, but that is on the pricy parts of town, like Clarck Quay and Boat Quay, should have learned to stay away from those places, but it is close by the hostel, and convinient. China town is also close, and have been there too, good food and cheaper beer. Eating there got me thinking for my first night on my first visit in Singapore in 2010, walked down to China town then too, but ended up on a Burger King, because I was affraid of eating with chop sticks, didn't now how to do it back then.
I am spending a day to much here in Singapore this year, today on Tuesday I have been bored. Went for a walk in Little India, but it was way to hot, and I escaped back down to the MRT and a shopping mall for some sushi after a short while. As every year here in Singapore, I live life as a goofer (think that is the name), travel around on the MRT and put my head up in differant shopping malls for a look, some food, coffee and maybe some shopping. Longest time I have been outside during the day was up at Bugis/Arab Street area, which is a nice little nighborhood.
Tomorrow, it is Bali time again, but I will not go to the main island this year, but instead going to Nusa Lembongan, looking forward to that, small island without ATM, good diving and what look like a good place to park the back pack for a week.
