Cooking class again, my first in Bali, Indonesia. Can not help to compare it with the best one I ever have been on, which was the on I had in Bangkok in 2010. We learned to make some good food here on Bali as well, but it was to much of a school class, watch and learn and to little doing the cooking our self, which for sure is the best way to learn. It is some other cooking classes in Ubud than the one I went to, maybe they to it differently.
The food was good, and the cook was devoted to the cooking and was a pretty good teacher, and he learned us how to make "Basic spice paste", which one use in a lot of the cooking. Dishes we made was Sayur Urab, Tuna Sambal Matah (my favorite, and easy to make at home too), Tempe Manis, Opor Ayam and Bali Sate Lilit. Got a good recipe book, with a lot of recipes, and that I do like. It might be some other good stuff that is possible to make as well in it, with stuff one can get at home.
After all, I still recommend the class, but I would have checked around if someone let you do more cooking, and not just giving a hand helping.
